St. John's Episcopal School in Orange County, Calif. hosts an annual fundraising gala, each year with a different theme. Due to the pandemic, the traditionally glamorous event was turned into a drive in.

Given the nostalgic drive-in concept, a retro styled illustration was the ideal brand solution. Offering a look reminiscent of the classic car culture with a hint of California grit (courtesy of Beverly Hills Drive script from Hoodzpah), the resulting illustrations set the tone for a fun evening, complete with vintage inspired hang tags for parking passes.

The client wanted black and white line illustrations but following the event, I loved the illustrations so much I wanted to add color.
